Located near the Pont d'Arc, this cave was discovered in 1994 by three speleologists. This cave is exceptional because of its rare characteristics: its age and its state of preservation. It has the best preserved parietal heritage as well as the most important in terms of the Aurgnacian Era (around 36,000 years ago). Its dimensions (8,500 m²) and the wealth of its wall paintings make it the first example of a major artistic endeavour known to this day.
